Short Term Health Insurance
Briefly, a health insurance plan in the short term, otherwise known as temporary health insurance is a medical plan with a limited duration. They are designed to fill gaps in its coverage of medical care during transition periods, such as graduating from college, or starting a new job in which you may have to wait for new coverage to begin.
Short-term plans offer comprehensive coverage safety and provide protection against catastrophic and unexpected health emergencies for 364 days. Services also cover healthy (to 9 years) child and child-care tests, vaccines, laboratories, routine mammograms and Pap tests routine.
Short-term plans do not comply with the Affordable Care Act (ACA) and have no coverage requirements. Pre-existing conditions are not covered and are subject applicants to answer questions and receive medical underwriting approval.
