Terms of use
What this site is, what it is not, and the rules for using it.
Last updated
These terms govern your use of InsuranceXR.com. By using the site, you agree to them.
What this site is
InsuranceXR.com is an independent marketing and referral service. We connect consumers with licensed insurance agents.
We are not an insurance company, agency, or broker. We do not sell insurance, we do not provide quotes, we do not recommend specific policies, and we do not bind coverage. We are not licensed to do any of those things and we do not do them.
When you call a number on this site, you are connected to a licensed insurance agent who is independent of us. Any quote, application, policy, or advice comes from that agent and the insurance company they represent — not from us.
How we are paid
The licensed agents and insurance companies in our partner network pay us for connecting them with consumers. We are compensated on a per-call or per-inquiry basis.
This is worth understanding: it means our compensation does not depend on whether you buy anything, or on which policy you buy. It also means we have a commercial interest in you calling. We think being explicit about that is better than the alternative.
Information on this site is general
Everything published here — coverage explanations, state requirements, guides, and statistics — is general information for education. It is not insurance advice, it is not a quote, and it is not an offer of coverage.
We take accuracy seriously. Statistics carry their source and the date they were verified. State requirements are compiled from state statutes and each state page links to its Department of Insurance.
Even so: requirements and rates change, and they vary by insurer and by individual circumstance. Do not rely on this site for a decision without confirming with a licensed agent or the relevant regulator. Where this site and a state Department of Insurance disagree, the Department is right.
Acceptable use
Do not use this site to:
- Submit false information, or another person's information without their permission
- Interfere with the site's operation, or attempt to gain unauthorized access
- Scrape, harvest, or automatically extract content
- Use it for any unlawful purpose
Third-party links
We link to state Departments of Insurance, statistical sources, and other third parties. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content or their privacy practices.
Disclaimer of warranties
The site is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
We do not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that the information on it is complete or current.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, InsuranceXR.com and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the site, or from any interaction with a licensed agent or insurance company we connected you with.
We are not responsible for the acts or omissions of the independent licensed agents and insurance companies in our partner network. They are separate businesses, responsible for their own conduct, their own licensing, and their own compliance.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless InsuranceXR.com and its operators from any claim arising out of your use of the site or your breach of these terms.
Changes
We may update these terms. Continued use after a change means you accept it. The date at the top shows when they were last revised.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware and the applicable laws of the United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Nothing here takes away a protection your own state's consumer law gives you.
Disputes and arbitration
Please read this section. It affects how any dispute between us is resolved.
If something goes wrong, contact us first at [email protected]. Most problems are settled that way, and we would rather fix a complaint than argue about one.
If a dispute cannot be settled informally within 30 days, you and InsuranceXR.com agree to resolve it by binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, rather than in court. The arbitration is conducted in the county where you live or remotely, whichever you prefer. Where those rules apply, we pay the filing and arbitrator's fees.
Two things are carved out. Either of us may bring an individual claim in small-claims court instead. And either of us may ask a court to stop misuse of intellectual property.
Claims are brought individually. Neither of us may bring a class action, act as a class representative, or have claims joined with anyone else's.
You can opt out of this section. Email [email protected] with the subject "Arbitration opt-out" within 30 days of first using the site, and this entire section does not apply to you. Nothing else changes, and opting out costs you nothing. If you opt out, disputes go to the state or federal courts sitting in Delaware, and we each consent to that jurisdiction.
If the class-action waiver above is found unenforceable, this whole section is void and disputes go to court — the rest of these terms still stand.
